Saturday, August 27, 2016 8am

Description

Update to location Azusa Canyon: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/angeles/maps-pubs/?cid=stelprdb5318342

The cost is $8 to get into the area which is paid at the entry gate to the Forest Service.

You can meet us at the Dennis on Alicia at 630am or at Azusa Canyon at 8am

This off road 101 class will cover:

  1. Recommended list of items to carry in your vehicle at all times.
  2. Pre-trip planning
  3. We'll cover trail rating systems as well as how to rate trails.
  4. Things to consider if you're the trail guide
  5. Spotting
  6. Basic recovery
  7. Before you hit the road to go home
  8. Additional/optional equipment

The concepts in the course are things I've learned and picked up over many years.  However, these are not the only way to do things and you might not even tthink they're the best way.  I would like you attend with an open mind so that we can learn from each other.

Contact me if you're interested in my knowing my qualifications and I will give a short autobiography to the attendees.
