This is day trip. Bring a lunch.  This is an easy forest road. that begins east of Temecula.

Ensure that your driving abilities and Rig meets the below requirements and recommendations.

Communications

  • CB Radio on Channel 4
  • HAM Radio on Frequency 146550

Always required for any Run:

  • Full-Sized Spare Tire
  • Tow Straps
  • Seat Belts
  • First Aid
  • Fire Extinguisher
  • Battery Tiedown
  • Working Brakes

Difficulty: 1


1 Graded road; Any 4x4 vehicle or higher clearance 2x4 vehicle with no other modifications
2 Road rarely maintained; 4x4 with no low bumpers. Anti-sway bar disconnects recommended. Minimum 30" tires and some off-road experience is helpful
3 Difficult terrain and road rarely maintained; 33" tires, Suspension lift, Off-road driving experience, body armor and Rear locker recommended. Stock vehicles will likely take damage
4 Very difficult terrain, road never maintained and possible erosion; 33" tires, Anti-sway bar disconnects, Rear hard locker, Off-road driving experience, and Rock sliders required. 35" tires, front locker, Full cage, and 4:1 transfer-case strongly recommended. Chance of mechanical failure and body damage
5 Extremely difficult terrain with large obstacles and roll over potential; Full cage required, 37" tires strongly recommended. Good chance of mechanical failure and strong chance of body damage

Rendevous at: Temecula

Meet at 9 AM at Carl's Jr,  44515 Bedford Ct, Temecula, just east of the I-15 freeway and Temecula Parkway exit (Hwy 79)

Caravan to the Trailhead - Palomar Divide Road - which is 2.8 miles east of Sunshine Summit.  

We'll come down High Point Road back to the 79, just east of Aquanga.  (The map below is incorrect.)
