Adopt-A-Trail Work Day

May 19th 2018

The following, in this color, is an invitation we received from Ranger Greg.  It is not a CV4W’s run. I have posted it in the event you would like to participate.

On Saturday, May 19th we'll be heading out to Pipe's Canyon.  Pipe's Canyon is located 14 miles southeast of Big Bear Lake.  Pipe's Canyon is a historical route (part of the original California Riding and Hiking Trail) with many unique scenic overlooks, twists and turns and lots of solitude.

Working with the Freelander's 4x4 Club, we'll be clearing rock slides, trees and other debris, reopening this high moderate 4x4 road.

We need assistance in order to accomplish this task.  Please pass this message on to your club members.

Meeting at Big Bear Discovery center at 0845, leaving at 0900.  Or, meeting at Onyx Summit/Highway 38 at 0920, leaving at 0930.

Be prepared.  Please bring plenty of food and water.  Drive a good running 4x4 vehicle with a 2" lift (minimum).  Bring shovels and rakes, gloves, sunscreen and an attitude for a fun day in a very remote part of the forest.

Thank you very much,

Ranger Greg.
