Description
2020 Parker 425 Race Course Run
The Parker 425 is a popular off road race in Parker, AZ. It is a loop race with the elite classes running three 140 mile loops with a infield course known as the Python. The weekend begins with Qualifying and a street fair on Wednesday. at aroung 10-11 am. We can go out into the surrounding desert and find a good spot to watch the elite classes qualify, the Unlimited Trophy trucks, Unlimited Class 1 buggies and the Spec class trophy trucks. Porbably 80 to 100 vehicles will qualify. Right after is the Downtown Experience where you can see all the vehicles and drivers up close. They serve food and affordable beer, t shirts and other vendors. On Thursday, we can attend the contingency at the Bluewater casino and they make a run in the jeeps in the early afternoon. Race day for the slower classes is on Friday, with the faster unlimited classes running on Saturday. There are multiple locations to watch the the race vehicles at top speeds.
Sunday morning, we could hit breakfast at the one of the local establishments and then head out to run the actual course that the racers ran the day before. It will be chewed up and we will mostly likely see plenty of body parts (fenders and the likes) strewn through out the course. The course is 140 miles long and there are multiple areas that it runs close to a graded road you can take if you would like to run just part of the course before heading home.
You can camp right in main pit, next to the Python where you can have a fire, they multiple portable toilets. I can block off a large area if there is enough interest. You can also see if there might be motel rooms available but they fill up really fast for that weekend. Another option would be you can set up cots or tents in my new large garage and would have access to a bathroom and shower for the weekend. If i am able, i will try to host a spaghetti feast at my place about 5 mins away from the actual main pit area.
No special vehicle requirements except 4wd will be necessary and the more ground clearance the better! 40" race tires make for really deep holes in the course.... some of the lower clearance vehicles may need to be pulled across, sliding on skip pans underneath... if you have them......
Should be fun... I you have any questions, feel free to call me 949.933.1401
